ABSTRACT:
This 10 page paper discusses the following statement “the position of the individual in international law has changed dramatically over the last sixty years. This change is reflected in contemporary international human rights law”. The paper looks at the development of the rights over the last sixty years and the way that the individual rights are either protected or undermined. In addition to the international law the paper also looks at the Human Rights Act 1998 in the UK as an example of the way international law is adopted in a nation state.
